Gerald was one of four children whose parents both became infected with HIV. Gerald first lost his mother when he was nine and became the head of household because of the severe illness of his father who died when Gerald was 11.

Gerald and his sisters were helped with education, food and clothing from the generous ministry of Compassion International.  Compassion International also provided Christian schooling for the family and Gerald was saved and later was sponsored by Compassion to receive pastors training in a Bible College where he graduated with a Diploma in Bible and Theology in 2005. Gerald received God’s calling to minister to the orphaned and poor and has devoted his life’s work to reaching the people of Masaka with the truth of God’s word.  Gerald and Sylivia have been married since December 2007.

Sylivia grew up in a polygamous family and was not a Christian. Fortunately, she became a Christian while in High school and started serving with Youth and Children in the Church. She went to school and graduated with a National Diploma in Agriculture/ Crop Husbandry. She is the backbone of the children’s ministry in the Church. She is a great support to the families of the children that come to our Church. Most of these children come from broken families and they live a difficult life that always calls for care and support of a self-motivated believer. By the grace of God, Sylivia does this work.

Their children are Jireh Evans Mukisa (boy 11), Shammah Abigail Mukisa (girl 9), Shalom Patience Mukisa (girl 7), Josiah Benjamin  Mukisa (boy 5), and Joel  Sheaks Mukisa (boy 2).  The adopted teen girls are; Nalugemwa Jackie 17, Nakigoye Sulaina 15, and Jesca Janet  12.
