We are called to wholeheartedly live in this freedom while drawing others to experience the true freedom that can only be found in Jesus Christ. 

LIVE FREE will bring together courageous individuals who have experienced the transformative power of Jesus, breaking free from the shackles that once held them captive. Through captivating narratives and meaningful dialogues, we will explore personal journeys of resilience, empowerment, and the pursuit of truth.

Speakers

 

Cassie Ferren

Cassie grew up in Cincinnati, OH with parents who church planted. Knowing she was called into ministry from a young age, she moved to Springfield, MO to pursue a B.A. at Evangel University and an M.A. in Communications from Missouri State University. Cassie married her husband Alex in 2017.

Currently, Cassie is a lead pastor at Midtown KC Church, the church her and her husband planted and both lead together. Additionally, she teaches public speaking at the University of Missouri Kansas City.

Cassie started a local network of women pastors called Women Ministers in KC and also leads a Newthing Network in downtown KC. Cassie has a passion to mentor and train young female ministers and see both men and women walking side by side leading the church into the next century.

 

 

Becca Alvord

Becca is a wife, mama to twin boys, and has 14 years of experience ministering to youth. Becca’s passion is to see the body of Christ know Jesus and His resurrection power.

On a daily basis, you can see her cuddling with her boys, hanging out with teenagers, and juggling ALL the things! She made sure to mention that she’s excited to be at the Live Free Women's Conference to see God's freedom transform women's lives.

 

 

Dr. Sharon Walker

Dr. Sharon Walker is a dynamic prayer warrior who delights in education. She earned her Doctorate degree in May 2021 in Church Administration and Christian Education with a dream to touch lives far beyond the pulpit. Out of her passions birthed many ministries including Kingdom Christian Academy, Women of Grace, and Reading Always Matters. By way of her ministries, Dr. Walker has developed and blessed many in her church, community, and around the world. Dr. David and Sharon Walker are the Senior and Executive Pastors of Harvest Christian Center Intl. They have been married for nearly thirty years and have two wonderful children, Melissa and Stephen, and one granddaughter, Chloe.

 

 

Margie Banach

Margie is a seasoned graduate-level educator, public speaker and executive leadership coach. She has served in leadership roles in both the public and private sectors, over the last 32 years. She has worked as an instructor and facilitator in areas of leadership, resiliency, emotional intelligence, and influence over the last 17 years.

She helps people focus on what matters most, at work, and in life. She supports people in finding the right tools and strategic frameworks that work best for them, to ensure optimal personal, professional, and spiritual growth.

As a Christ follower, Margie is most passionate about the ministry of faith and family, and has a heart to encourage people. She loves to spend her time with her husband, and their family. They have six rapidly growing grandchildren, three wonderful children and spouses, and a very bossy rescue cat.

Margie has also served in roles that extended to state-level leadership and advocacy for education in Hawaii, the Joint Venture Education Forum with John Hopkins University, and to the U.S. Department of Education. She is a trained executive leadership coach, with extensive coaching experience for C-Suite executive leaders. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Iowa, a Master of Science degree in Adult Learning and Leadership, a Certificate of Leadership from Kansas State University (KSU). Margie is a recipient of several civilian awards and is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society at KSU.

 

 

Tammy Dedeke

Tammy is a child of God who has had an active faith, walking with Jesus since 2019. Born in Los Alamitos, California, she grew up in the greater Kansas City area before settling down in Leavenworth 41 years ago. Tammy was married to Jeff Dedeke for 32 wonderful years until she was widowed in June 2022. Together they have 3 children and 2 precious granddaughters, twin 3-year-olds.

After graduating from Leavenworth High School, Tammy completed career training and some college. Her diverse career spans the restaurant industry, family property business, and church staff. She managed an independent restaurant grossing $1.2 million in annual sales with over 45 employees. As a District Manager in food distribution, she oversaw a $24 million territory and 10 sales professionals. Tammy also co-owned a family property renovation and management business with her late husband.

Currently, she serves as the First Impressions Director at Westside Family Church Leavenworth. In her free time, Tammy enjoys cooking, DIY projects, gardening, and reading. Most of all, she cherishes time spent with family and friends.

 

 

Sarah Benton

Sarah has served in the local church since grade school passing out bulletins and offering plates to singing in her parents' choir. In her college years, Sarah helped build youth programs in a local church in Ohio and in Turner, KS during her summers. These were pivotal in Sarah’s growth of becoming the educator she is today. The classroom has been her mission field for the last sixteen years, serving eleven years at the middle school level and now she is in her fifth year at the high school level.

Sarah was a part of Westside Family Church in Lenexa, KS after coming home from college in 2007. In 2015, through much prayer, she felt God calling her to join a group of people to plant Westside Leavenworth. She has served in the youth ministry, and can now be found behind a camera, or in the production both on Sunday mornings. Sarah is excited to serve our youth again at this year's women's conference.

 

 

Lori Laps

With a background in psychology and experience in elementary education, Lori developed a drive for letting each child know that they are seen and deeply loved. This passion has led her into ministry to kids.  Lori is the KiDS Grade School Director at Westside Family Church in Leavenworth, KS.

One of her greatest passions is breaking the stigma of mental health for Christians and empowering people to use the tools that God has given them to live a free life. Her husband, Kenny, and three children (Mackenzie, 20; Warren, 16; and Hannah, 12), have been a military family for a long time.

In 2019, the Laps moved to Leavenworth and now call it home. Lori loves baking, reading, music, generally causing shenanigans, and above all—she loves her three Boston Terriers, Max, Bonnie, and Clyde.

 

 

Jenni Keltner

Jenni is a wife, mom and has served in ministry for over 30 years.  Jenni and her husband, Ryan, have been married for 28 years.  Jenni grew up in the Kansas City, Kansas area where she graduated from Piper High School and later graduated from the University of Saint Mary’s.  She moved to Tonganoxie in 2005 with her husband and children. 

She has served in youth ministry, women’s ministry, as church secretary, Pastor’s wife and a Director of Children’s Ministry. Jenni has a passion for serving in ministry and sharing the love of Jesus with those around her.  She has also taught preschool, Pre-K and worked in the banking industry.

In her spare time you will find her curled up with a good book, at her sewing machine or browsing the aisles of antique and thrift stores!

 

 

Joe Klassen

Joe has served in many different people in many different ministry roles. He has been a group home manager, a ministry volunteer, and a discipleship coordinator. Joe now serves as the Care and Next Steps Pastor at Westside Family Church in Leavenworth. Joe's heart for meeting new people and introducing them to Jesus drives his daily life.

 

 

Cassie & Kasey Robinson

Cassie and Kasey started Westside Family Church in Leavenworth, KS in 2016. They have three kids, two dogs, three lizards, and a hamster.

Cassie leads at Westside and serves as our conference host. She has a passion for people to live in Christ’s freedom. Cassie and Kasey served as missionary church planters in South Africa prior to moving to Leavenworth, KS in 2015.
