Invite someone: At the Movies is June 9-30

Jesus used culturally relevant stories to timeless truths about the Kingdom of God. We are using million dollar stories to share the kingdom truths of the gospel. This is a great time to come, to invite, and to see God transform your life and someone else’s life.

Re-stream Availalbility

These teachings will not be available on demand. You can only experience At the Movies while at a service on site or at church online. We will re-stream the services regularly at church online. Invite your friends and family to watch it there if they cannot join us on site.

Weekly Movies

June 6: Spider-man: No Way Home
June 16: The Martian (Father’s Day)
June 23: Wonka
June 30: A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Each week, you will receive notes that will share the kingdom truths that lead us to know God and follow Jesus so you can experience the full life He wants for you. Those notes and cue sheets will be posted weekly on our “messages” page

Save the images below to your device to send to others and invite them to join you.

What will the services be like?

Here are the exciting things that will be different during “At the Movies.”

MESSAGES: We will still have engaging preaching that will inspire and challenge you to grow in your faith and follow Jesus. We will use movie clips to share biblical truths to lead you to grow in your faith and follow Jesus—but the gospel won’t change. You will receive notes with a “Talk-it-over” so you can talk with a friend or your family and follow Jesus together.

We will continue to sing songs that focus our hearts and minds on God and have times where we pray together so we can share Jesus with one another.

POPCORN: That irresistible buttery popcorn will be FREE and you can eat as much as you want. We know it will be before lunch, but we know popcorn is awesome regardless what time of day it is.

MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL VIP SECTION & WRAP PARTY: Middle & High School students are invited to our VIP Section. You’ll know exactly where it’s at! Plus, all Middle & High School students are invited to a “Wrap” party in the Loft with snacks and drinks right after each service. This party will be about 15 minutes and then students will be released to go home. So parents, please plan to stay a little extra so your student may connect with others their age.

Middle School Services & High School Underground

We will not have Middle School Services or High School Underground during At the Movies. Make sure they join our VIP experience! We will also not have MS/HS services on July 3 or July 7. Services will resume on July 10.

KiDS Promotion Sunday is June 2

We will be promoting our KiDS on June 5th. All of our K-5th graders will be transitioning to their next age group. For our PreKs, they will promote based on their birthday. Outgoing 5th Graders will promote to the Middles School Service at 9:30am on Sundays.

We want to make this as easy of a transition for your KiDS. If you have any concerns about your child, please contact our Family Team.

Driveway Movie Night + BLESS

We are on mission together loving Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and sharing Jesus in our neighborhoods. We want to empower you to be on this mission to B.L.E.S.S. your neighbors by throwing a Driveway Movie Night.

Why host a Driveway Movie Night? One reason, to build relationships with your neighbors and create the opportunity to eat together and get to know one another’s story. This is also a great way to listen to their story and learn how you can pray for them. You may even have the chance to share Jesus by praying with a neighbor during your Driveway Movie Night!

We have created a few Driveway Movie Night Kits to help you pull this off. Or you can use your own tv or projector to throw your own Driveway Movie Night. If you would like to learn more or if you’d like to reserve a Driveway Movie Night Kit, click the link below.

Let’s be on mission together this summer loving Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and sharing Jesus where we live!

This week our Middle and High school service restarted and this Sunday will be full of energy as we restart our KiDS ministry.

2. Join us in a 40 day Bible.is Listening Plan at https://bible.is (Book of Mark).
3. Host or join your family and friends for a watch party to watch the Gospel of Mark over 6 weeks.
4. Gather with us every Sunday online or onsite.

KiDS Ministry | Limited Services Begin Aug 2

New Series Begins Aug 9
Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of…

We begin a new series in three Sundays that I hope you won't miss. What happens when our pursuit of happiness drives our beliefs, thoughts, and actions? We will look at what should drive your beliefs, especially when it comes to life and liberty.

HOST A GROUP IN HOME OR ONLINE

This pandemic has left many people feeling disconnected. This should not be in the local church, however many people are needing that connection more than ever. This is why we have LifeGroups for people to connect. Will you prayerfully consider hosting a 6-week Life Group beginning on Aug 30? You can do this in your home or online.

All groups will be encouraged to sync up with our series, Like A Good Neighbor. Attend our Group Host Rally on Aug 9 at 12:30pm.

I am so grateful to be on mission together with you!

Building Re-Opening Update: 2020-07-08

We are looking forward to seeing those who are ready to return to our public gatherings as we re-open our building this week. We have some information in the video above that is important to make this safe for all and to help us ensure that we can continue to publicly gather.

Building Re-Opening | Limited Services

8:15am Service: Best for those who are higher risk
9:30am & 11:00am: We ask that families with kids coming attend only these services.

Our seating will help you maintain a safe social distance while we worship together.

Masks

We encourage everyone, 6 years and older, to wear a mask to the 9:30 or 11:00am services and keep them on until you are seated.

To keep our 8:15am service safe for those who are at higher risk, we are requiring masks to be worn until you are seated. For those who have medical conditions that restrict you from wearing a mask, please follow your directives and please come to our 8:15am service.

I encourage you to adopt an attitude I am having:
"Wearing a mask is not about your view,
it's about who is next to you."

These efforts will help us gather safely and help us ensure that we will be able to continue to attend together.

Staying Home?

Please let us know if you will be staying home while we re-open our building. This will help us know how we can best stay connected with you and help you be cared for in this season.

Digital Bulletin

Our bulletin is now fully digital. Make sure you are subscribed by filling out this form. This will keep you informed as we re-open our different ministries and it will give you the link to our teaching notes for Sunday.

I am grateful to be on mission together with you as we are loving Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and sharing Jesus.

Building Re-Opening Update

We are grateful for you being a part of our family and we can't wait to be in the same room with our church family again. We know that God's grace is always revealed in our trials. We pray that, as we navigate this season and move forward, you will continue to rely on God's grace that He has given through Jesus.

Leaders Gathering | June 28

June 28, 6:00-7:00pm
Your KiDS will join you in the Community Room

We will have our first open worship service that is exclusively for all who serve here at Westside. We will be sharing an inspiring message that will direct our focus for the upcoming season.

Building Re-Opening | Limited Services

July 12 | 8:15, 9:30, & 11:00am services.

We encourage those who are considered "high risk" to attend our 8:15am service. This will be an adult only service and we will permit infants to come.

Our 9:30 and 11:00am services will be open for families. KiDS will join their parents in the Community Room for the 50 min services. We have added some procedures to what we have in place to keep our building clean. We will be giving you more information in the next few weeks about how we are preparing for you and what you can expect as we re-open our building.

KiDS & Westside Student Ministry

Services begin week of August 2.

Our KiDS ministry environments will re-open on August 2. Our Student Ministries will also begin their weekly services this week too.

WSM Groups are now meeting in person. Teenagers can connect in a group and you can get info on how you can host a group below.

Church @home | This Sunday

I challenge you to invite someone to have church @home with you at your home this week. This is a meaningful way we can build community with each other, pray for one another, worship together, and grow together.

This Sunday, I will be giving a message that God has been stirring up in me for several weeks. It is timely and will challenge every follower of Jesus. I believe if every Christian would take this challenge, it would be the best action against racism.

We believe we are better on mission together loving Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and sharing Jesus.
