Easter Food Drive: Support Local Children
Every day in Lansing and Leavenworth children go to bed hungry. Westside is partnering with Second Harvest Community Food Bank who’s programs, Backpack Buddies and Campus Cupboard, support the local hunger needs for the children in our community schools and neighborhoods.
These programs provide food for children who arrive at school every day without having breakfast, and no expectation of meals when they get home at night or on the weekends.
Bring your food donations on Easter Sunday and place them in our donation trailer and be part of making a difference in the community we live.
Items to bring:
- Boxed dinners (i.e. mac and cheese, pastas, rice)
- Pasta sauce
- Ravioli
- Peanut butter
- Canned tuna
- Soups
- Cereals
- Pancake mix
- Syrup
- Healthy snacks
You may make monetary donations directly to Second Harvest Community Food Bank on their website.
Child Dedication & Parent Dedication Class
Child dedication is a special time where parents dedicate themselves, their child, and their parenting efforts to God. Why? We do this so that when your child is old enough to understand, they too can choose to follow Jesus.
If you are interested in dedicating your child we encourage you to attend an informational class prior to the dedication on March 5 at 12:30pm. Childcare will be provided for those who register.
Shoe Drive
Please donate your shoes in the Shoe Bin in the Back of the Community Room through Sunday, March 5th. Donate serviceable used shoes, fairly new shoes, or even brand new shoes. Brand name running shoes will go to kids in Ferguson, Missiouri. Other shoes will help “micro-entrepreneurs” in Africa. For more information contact Nina at ninacoulson1205@gmail.com.

Join us as we hear from live Westside teachers and video teachers such as Jennie Allen, Bianca Olthoff and David Platt surrounding this unconditional, all-encompassing love and how living daily in this love overflows and spills into the lives of those around us.

The Church Has Left the Building | New Year's Weekend
THE CHURCH HAS LEFT THE BUILDING
Church has left the building to BLESS others on New Years Weekend and this is how:
We want to encourage you to throw a New Year's Eve party on Saturday night or Sunday Supper on New Year's Day.
Make the choice on which you'll do. Then, choose your Lifegroup, another Westside family or friend to do it with. Then...
1) Begin praying for someone, who you want to know Jesus, that you can invite to your party or supper. Take a big step of courage and invite them to your New Year's Eve party or Sunday supper! This may be something you want to do with your Lifegroup.
2) Listen to them during your time together. Get to know them by asking questions. Listen to their passions, wants, and fears.
3) Eat together! When it comes time to thank Jesus for the food, I want to encourage you to ask everyone to say something they are thankful for in 2016. That's it. Be a thankful church and let your thankfulness for what God has done for you be your story.
These three practices will set you up to follow-up the party or supper to serve them and eventually share your story with them. So...
4) Listen for an opportunity to serve them. It may be something they say in conversation that you can help them with. It may be something that you want to do for them later. Be praying for the Holy Spirit to help you discover a way to take a follow-up step and serve them.
5) As you build your relationship and learn their story, the will likely ask you about your story or about why you follow Jesus. That is the open door for you to give an answer for why your hope is in Jesus and what Jesus has done for you.
Share you party or supper ideas below:
